Top issues during term (5)(Budget)
Five-year Capital Improvement Program conformity
Funded by state SB1 gas tax revenue; specific project costs aren't in the available record.
First-Time Homebuyer Down Payment Assistance
No direct appropriation; advisory body.
Proposed University of the Pacific School of Medicine
The requested federal grant would fund specialized equipment; UOP projects more than $800 million in direct economic impact for Stockton over the school's first ten years.
foster youth trust fund program
The pilot puts public or partner funding into savings accounts for participating foster youth, so the direct cost is limited rather than a broad citywide expense.
state audit of city finances
The audit could cost staff time and outside resources, and findings might trigger penalties, tighter state oversight, or budget changes that affect city services.
